The Seven Minute War

A couple of weeks ago, I did my version of a preview for the Cain vs Dirty match we saw this Wednesday. It's no secret that I'm arguably Cain's biggest supporter excluding Mama Justice. Naturally, you would assume I would automatically be on Cain's side. Normally, I would be against Cain's opponent. But something was different about this match that prevented me from being so.
You see, over the past few months, Dirty has grown on me. In watching him, you can see he's a great wrestler, but something is missing. With Dirty, you can see there's some anger deep inside just waiting to come out. You could say he's missing that fire and mean streak that Cain has. During that six man tag from several weeks ago, the heated history had prevented the two from being a cohesive team. In the end, Cain was the first one to strike and cost the team.
This lit a fire under Dirty that I've never seen before! Cain, you awoke a sleeping 60 year veteran of a giant. I was torn, I didn't want to root against either man! On one hand, I've always been a loyal Cainiac, on the other hand, Dirty found his missing ingredient.
Cain started with an attempt at a cheap shot with the belt, Dirty was pissed and took him down. The fight was on! In the opening seconds, Dirty clobbered Cain with some vicious elbows followed by a beautiful Airplane Spin, Brainbuster combo. Dirty wanted some revenge served quickly. The first couple of minutes were all Dirty due to his new found intensity and aggression. In a twist beginning, (See what I did? Ha!) Dirty worked over Cain's arm for a taste of his own medicine. This wasn't necessarily the best move since Cain gained control shortly afterward. A quick snap of the ropes to the face ala Trevor Lee swung the momentum in Cain's favor.
For the next few minutes, we saw Cain do what he does best, masterful arm work. He put a hurting on Dirty worse than any beating Dirty received in his Mid South days. Cain's ego would hinder him, soon. He piefaced Dirty several times, and rattled the gator's cage. Dirty stood up to two stiff clotheslines, but a short arm clothesline knocked him down very briefly. He popped right back up and turned Cain inside out with a Burning Lariat! What followed was a strike exchange that Dirty got the better of, despite it ending with both men down from simultaneous elbows to the back of the head.  Dirty got up first, so Cain went for another rope snap to the face. Dirty felt disrespected by the repetition and stomped him into oblivion! Dirty smelled blood and went for another Airplane Spin, which Cain countered into a school boy with the tights. Dirty kicked out of the dirty pin. Cain followed up with a superman punch into an attempted Tea Bag Driver. Dirty had it scouted and countered with a Code Red, the move he taught Amazing Red. Another Airplane Spin attempt was countered by Cain grabbing the injured arm. Dirty fought it off but was dropped with a knee that could possibly KO some MMA fighters. Cain knew Dirty was badly rocked and followed up with nasty ground and pound. The ref pulled him off, but Dirty would not be denied! He defiantly spat in Cain's face and got blasted with a mean superkick. Cain capitalized with the twist ending and got the tap. That was the best seven minute match I've ever seen! Cain gloated and did his mocking handshake gesture. Dirty was really excellent in the post match. He showed the combination of anger and dejection. You could practically see the tears. Dirty slapping the mat and then letting out a primal scream was an amazing touch. It really puts over the importance of the RGL title. CWF does it again by doing things you don't typically see in the big promotions! This was a phenomenal match with an excellent post match, and I couldn't possibly recommend it any more!
